Hand Engraving; This method of glass engraving is considered a lost
art form today with each engraved piece truly unique and different. Carborundum wheel engraving offers a
distinctive look. Every cut is deep etched (depending on the thickness of the glass) by hand with precession
into the glass creating detail and sharpness that offers a much cleaner look to the finished piece opposed
to the sandblasting. Also offers a wider thickness to the lettering which we have 4 widths we can use,
Old English lettering being the widest, monogram letters being a middle size, and names and date being
the smaller of the sizes. If you would like a certain boldness to your lettering you can email us to let us know.
This process is perfect for engraving
monogrammed initials, names, or lettering with 1 line of text, 2 lines of text maximum, more than 2 lines
text should use satin etching engravign process.
Hand Engraving is also perfect if you would like to engrave one of our hand engraved design styles with adding a name
or initials to the design. Do not use hand engraving if you want a script type font style or matching a font style in a logo design, limited
to block shape lettering and not good for multi lines of text.
Satin Etching; Sandblasting is a popular method of engraving where
a stencil is created of your art work and/or text. This process offers a smooth frosted look to the etched area, whitish
in color and stands out more, but is not as deeply etched as the hand engraved process.
Satin Etching is perfect for accurately reproducing your business, club or organizations logo designs and also for multiple
lines of text and sizing small text to fit small engraving areas. We can also
add and match any text to your logo if desired. Perfect for engraving multi lines of text where you would be
able to have unlimited font styles choices from Microsoft's word or can use your own custom font style. You can also
use the hand engraved monogram styles to pattern initials after, you can use style #1 - Classic, style #2 - Straight,
style #3 - angled, and style #8 - Single letter, in any of the hundreds of font style choices.
We list on the satin etching order page's drop down menu, 20 of the most popular and the best engrave able
font styles and recommending choosing one from the list.
